The Divine Ms. Paglia

Emily at Poesy Galore says about the divine Ms. Paglia: "She's arrogant; she's awful; she's got a way with words. I'd love to see a drag queen do Camille."

But I thought Camille Paglia WAS a drag queen! hehehe

I'm looking forward, with a mixture of anticipation and dread, to checking out: Break, Blow, Burn : Camille Paglia Reads Forty-three of the World's Best Poems.

P, wouldn't you just love to meet her? When I've seen her interviewed, her manner of speech has reminded me of...my mother's. As my mother has also been mistaken for Elizabeth Taylor, I'd say the drag queen thing is dead-on. Btw, I love "no mas senoritas"...and speaking of drag, I've just discovered the best drag king name, if I ever get the nerve: Sir Get U. Tender. (an anagram of Gertrude Stein)

best,

PS--I've scoured the web trying to find a graphic of that 1950s M&M peanut...no luck, alas.

Sir Get U. Tender!! My oh my. And an anagram of the great GS (with echoes of Tender Buttons).

Did you ever read the recently released book of her and Alice's love notes, Baby Precious Always Shines. It was amazing.
