1924-2006

What a dreamy hunk he was. My favorite movie: 1971's made-for-TV "Duel," one of the first films directed by Steven Speilberg.

Duel was great, wasn't it?

I was sad to see he'd passed.

Yes it was a terrific movie for its time. I love how you never see the face of the guy in the semi truck. The truck itself is the character. Road rage personified.

Duel is one of Speilberg's best. It's a wonderful thrill. For whatever reason, I can't help but rethink the ending: The truck pushes the car over the cliff... Weaver stands at the edge looking down... the camera moves in on his face ... cut to smoke & dust ... cut to wreckage below ... camera pulls back from Weaver's face a bit, shoots over his shoulder ... as the air begins to clear, the truck driver is standing about 40 feet away, facing Weaver... Weaver, on instinct, looks up and starts to turn ... credits roll.

By the way, thanks for the good words about BFR.
