The Birds Have Vanished

The birds have vanished into the sky,
and now the last cloud drains away.

We sit together, the mountain and me,
until only the mountain remains.

--Li Po

Above the boat,
bellies
of wild geese.

--Kikaku

From the bough
floating down river,
insect song.

--Issa

I love " . . .until only the mountain remains."

Also:
The bee emerging

Springtime coming!
