It looks like "After The Pillow Book" was the "poem of the day" podcast at the Poetry Foundation yesterday. I still stand by this poem, and read it at readings sometimes. But in this recording I think it sounds a little like I need a throat lozenge? I dunno . . . Give it a listen here:

I love that movie! And I think your reading is warm and I dare I say mellifluous.

Maybe it's my new Bose headset, but I think you sound superb. Love the poem--maculate is a great and accurate word.

Thank you C and P. It's hard to hear one's own voice and be a very good judge of it. Probably none of us sounds like what we *think* we sound like.

P: Glad you like "maculate." I *love* that word.

Peter, I love the poem and when Rafael Campo and I had lunch we talked about what a wonderful poet you are. I really wish you could of been in Minneapolis for Em and Rafael's reading.

T: Thank you.
I wish I could have been there, too! I hope Emily had a great reading.
