doff \DOF\, transitive verb:

1. To take off, as an article of clothing.
2. To tip or remove (one's hat).
3. To put aside; to rid oneself of.

(from today's dictionary word a day)

I think I need to do some doffing.

Instead of transitive, I thought it said transvestite. Very interesting in the context of doff. Or maybe it's just late. :)
