According to this quiz, I speak 50% Yankee, 45% general American English, and 5% Southern. Jesus!
Jeez, I am a Yankee. There is no Southern. It was 5% Dixie!
C Dale: It must be all that *New England* Review reading (grin).
I speak 100% Jesus.
I'm 65% General with a heavy dose of Upper Midwestern on the side, which I guess makes sense as my mother is from northern Wisconsin.
Peter,Ha! I think it may be having lived in Boston and gone to school there for a while. I didn't realize how much it affected my English. Personally, I am fairly sure my diction and speech is more likely a product of my mother being English. Who knows?
