Home and Warm

Dean passed all the tests with flying colors. They adjusted his blood pressure meds, and hopefully that'll do the trick.

It's funny, but if one more staff person at the hospital had asked if I were his "son," I was afraid Dean was going to haul off and clobber them (~grin~), so I guess it is good they made us go home.

Thanks for the kind wishes, it means a lot.

Glad to hear Dean is on the mend.

BTW, when my husband and I first started dating I was mistaken for his daughter a couple times -- and he's only four months older than me.

People are fools.

I'm so glad, Peter--and the last time I went in for surgery, they thought my dad was my husband.

I'm glad to hear Dean's home, too. I had a feeling he was going to be fine, but you never know about those feelings.

Not the same sort of thing, but a woman sitting behind me at Catherine Wing's reading asked me if I were her father (I seemed to be laughing a little more than other folks).

I told him to work it. That means you have to be extra attentive for at least 3 months.

Thanks all. Dean is doing well and appreciates all the positive vibes. It's like ladlefuls of golden broth.

I am really glad Dean's doing so well.

BTW, when I was visiting an emergency room with back and arm spasms, several of the nurses thought I was married to my son. (They had heard my husband was younger...but Harvey's 7 years younger, not 27 years younger!) I asked one of the nurses why she thought this, and she said, "Well, he opened the door for you and held your purse..." My son took it in stride, but I was astounded.

I agree with Reb. People are fools.

Pamela: That is too funny. Dean is 21 years older than I, and we introduce ourselves as partners, but people seem to ~hear~ what they want to hear. It's mostly funny, and we take it in stride (I understand how these May-December relationships are difficult for some people to comprehend). It's only occasionally annoying.

Hope Harvey is doing well after his recent experience.
