There's a straight family on my street with a flag featuring a giant purple pansy; underneath the pansy is the word PANSY. I can't quite figure this out...
The pansy flag reminds me of the time I was on a bus headed for the GLBT March on Washington in .. was it '87? Anyway, we stopped at some truck stop or other, in which one could purchase cute little plastic hair barrettes with cute little words on them, some of which proudly proclaimed the intended wearer's age: "I'm Five!" "I'm Three!"
The ones that said "I'm One!" were, ah, rather popular among certain of my fellow bus-riders. They could only have been more appreciated if they'd come in a matched set with barrettes that said "Are you one, too?"
