Baby Born With Two Faces
"She drinks milk from her two mouths and opens and shuts all the four eyes at one time," said Vinod Singh, 23, a poor farm worker. "My daughter is fine - like any other child."
Lali has caused a sensation in the dusty village of Saini Sunpura, 25 miles east of New Delhi. When she left the hospital, eight hours after a normal delivery on March 11, she was swarmed by villagers, said Sabir Ali, the director of Saifi Hospital.

Why does this draw me in? I feel simultaneously repulsed and fascinated.

I ended up writing a poem about Lakshmi, the little girl born with extra limbs.
This little one is absolutely adorable and sweet. I am amazed looking at her as it really seems like two little babies, but they said it's really just one with duplicate features.
Do you know if this happens more in India than in other places as I thought that's where the other baby was from (Lakshmi)? I tend to wonder if it's from some sort of pollution or hazardous material the mother is somehow ingesting during the pregnancy. Any ideas?
thanks for posting this.
This is the first I'm seeing her--I thought it would be repulsive maybe, but I find she has pretty little faces.
we may have union carbide to thank for some of these babies. I heard she's going to have a great life--her family is loving and people think she is the reincarnation of some beloved goddess or princess.
I hope she isn't autistic or anything--it would be nice if she was OK other than this.
She is sweet. I guess I want to know if there are two brains at work, if the faces are -- for lack of a better description -- two different people. Obviously there were going to be twins and something happened. Peter can probably explain it better.
K, DBC, C:
Yes I wonder if it is due to toxic waste in India. Very sad.
I think, because her 4 eyes all blink at the same time, that she probably has one brain. But I am by no means an authority here.
Peter, I hope there's a poem about her in the works. I think you could do her justice.
