HEXAKOSIOIHEXEKONTAHEXAPHOBIA Much has been made in some quarters of last Tuesday's date, 6-6-06, which is close enough to the Number of the Beast in the New Testament Book of Revelation to have caused some anxiety among those who fear the consequences of numerological coincidences. This term for morbid anxiety about the number 666 is not, so far as I know, to be found in any dictionary. The "-phobia" ending is easy and the rest is an English transliteration of the Greek for 666: "hexakosioi" - 600, "hexekonta" - 60, "hex" - 6.
